BNS Telecom Charity Fund
Community FoundationBNS Telecom has a longstanding commitment to supporting local groups and organisations and as part of our corporate and social responsibility programme, we have launched the BNS Telecom Charity Fund.

The Charity Fund, which started in March 2008, is run by a committee
of BNS employees and has made 27 grants so far ranging from £250 to £4000. Organisations and groups who have received support Include the Northumberland Mountain Rescue Team, the Down’s Syndrome Support
Group at Wansbeck Young People’s Centre and the Prudhoe Community Band.

The Fund works in conjunction with The Community Foundation (Tyne and Wear and Northumberland) to assess and advise on the donations made to a variety of local causes.

Northumberland Mountain Rescue TeamThe Community Foundation manages charitable funds for people who want to    support the local community. They find the
best projects that match our interests and encourage involvement in the local community. From donor's funds, they have helped 1,700 groups last year (2008) with grants from a few pounds up to £100,000. They are keen to find grass roots projects that meet real needs and may not otherwise come to our notice.

The BNS Charity Fund has proved a success since it began and we have decided to extend the programme to our Birmingham Office under the Community Foundation for Birmingham. This will provide a great opportunity to help with a number of programmes in and around the area where there will be a committee of employees working to donate funds.

BNS Telecom is a company with local roots and are proud to be able to give something back to the community.
